| Overview | Esomeprazole (Esomeprazole) chemical name: 5-methoxy-2-[(S)-[(4-methoxy-3, 5-dimethyl-2-pyridyl) methyl] sulfinyl]-1H-benzimidazole, Cas No:161796-78-7. Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H /K-ATPase of gastric parietal cells and prevents the formation of gastric acid. Esomeprazole is developed by AstraZeneca and marketed in Sweden, USA and other countries for the treatment of dyspepsia, peptic ulcer, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and soleringer syndrome.
